VM-850 Overview:
The Vivax Metrotech VM 850 by Vivax-Metrotech (often referred to as the “Metrotech 850”) is the line locator of choice for many Customers around the world. In fact, Metrotech has been producing the well-tried and tested Metrotech 850 utility locator for over forty years. The Metrotech 850 was engineered to provide, accurate, easy locating. It is a favorite among pipe and locating professionals.
Smaller pipes and direct buried or long distance conduits can be located using the single lower 9.82kHz frequency. This frequency in particular is ideal for CATV, power, and telephone applications and allows for less bleeding onto adjacent services. Model Number: VX216-01, VX216-02 (receiver, transmitter)
Kit Contents:
When you purchase the Vivax Metrotech VM 850 utility line locator, you get a complete kit, including the receiver, transmitter, direct connection leads, grounding rod, manual and hard case. You can also buy an optional Transmitter Induction Clamp which can put the transmitter signal directly onto a cable.
The Distance Sensitive Left/ Right Guidance™ feature enables the locator to find which antenna specifically is receiving the strongest signal. Once found, it displays arrows on the screen, indicating which direction the user should move in order to be over the buried line. The arrow guidance and pushbutton simplicity create a user-friendly locator that is very popular in the industry.
